| Butler
County Investigator, Kellis (Kelly) Thompson worked for the
Butler County Sheriff's Department as a Reserve Officer from
1995 until he was hired on as a full-time Dispatcher. Kelly
attended Southeast Missouri State University where he completed
all of his Law Enforcement Training ending up with a Class B
Certification in 2001. In May of 1999, Kellis was hired as a
Road Deputy. He has also worked in the past as our Dare Officer.
He received a Life Saving Award from the VFW of the United
States. In 2007 he attended the Missouri Southern State
University Law Enforcement Academy where he became a Missouri
Certified Crime Scene Investigator. He was named Officer of the
Year in 2008 and was promoted to Investigator and Evidence
Technician in January 2009. |

Tim Davis began his career January 1, 1981 working for the
Butler County Sheriff's Department. During this time he worked
in the Communications Division, Corrections, Civil Processing,
the courts, and as a Road Deputy.
In March of 1995 he joined the Poplar Bluff Police Department
and worked as a Patrol Officer for 8 1/2 years. In 1993 Davis
was promoted to the rank of sergeant and was assigned to the
Criminal Investigations Bureau as a Detective.
Also in 1995 he was assigned the responsibility of Crime Scene
Investigator for the Police Department.
In July 2010 Davis returned to the Butler County Sheriff's
Department where he serves as a Criminal Investigator.
Davis is a member of the International Association of
Identification, Missouri Division of the IAI, Association for
Crime Scene Reconstruction, and Poplar Bluff/Butler County Major
Case Squad. |
