Butler County Sheriff's Department: "Cracking down on
Impaired Drivers August, 17-September 3,"
The sobering
face is that that impaired driving contributes to nearly 30
percent of all Missouri traffic Fatalities.
In 2011, 220
people were killed and 902 seriously injured in crashes
involving an impaired driver; that's why the Butler County
Sheriff's Department will join other Missouri Law Enforcement
agencies to crack down on drunk driving August 17- September
3,2012.
Consequences of
drunk driving include jail time, loss of drivers license, or
being sentenced to use ignition interlocks.
Insurance
rates go up. Other financial hits include attorney fees, court
costs, lost time at work, and potential loss of job or job
prospects.
When family,
friends and co workers find out, Violators can also face
tremendous personal embarrassment and humiliation.

Brake For Seat Belts
The Butler County Sheriff's Dept will be joining with
statewide law enforcement agencies for
"Click-It or Ticket" Partnership for Missouri for
Missouri Roadway Safety,
Seven out of 10 people killed in Missouri traffic crashes are
unbuckled. Even with this staggering percentage Missouri's seat
belt usage has remained relatively unchanged in the last six
years. Missouri has a 76% seat belt use, which is well below the
national average of 85% Teens and pickup truck drivers are among
the least likely to buckle up at 66 and 62 percent.
Seat belt use is the single most effective way to protect people
and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes.
